Easter Weekend

What a fun and busy Easter weekend we had this year! Uncle Ed, Aunt Betsy, Ben and Ferris came in town again this year, and Coop was in cousin heaven! The second Ben and Ferris walked in the door, Coop had a huge grin on his face that didn't go away the entire weekend. And, that was the last he needed of Mommy. With Ben and Ferris around, who needs Mommy?! :)
Coop decided that Ferris and Poppi needed to be showered with kisses. I mean over and over and over. The best, sweetest, slobbery, two-year-old kisses right on the nose!
I didn't explain the meaning of Easter to Coop because he's just too young to understand. But I made sure to emphasize that yes, the Easter Bunny brings us goodies, but really we are celebrating Jesus. We'll work more on the meaning next year. This year we did, however, get egg dying and egg hunting down perfectly!

The weekend started with a big baseball game in the backyard. Coop had no fear of that hard baseball...yikes! He was right in the middle with the big guys.

I wasn't sure how long he would last at dying eggs, but he totally loved it. Loved choosing the different colors and watching the eggs change. So maybe he liked to drop the eggs in each bowl as opposed to gently sliding them in...minor detail that we can work on next year. In the end, all the eggs were dyed (yes, they all had a few cracks, but that's just where we are in life!), some even got stickers, we had purple finger tips, and lots of fun!

And then someone was ready for bed and started getting shy in front of the egg dying paparazzi.

Easter morning. Coop was so excited to see that the Easter Bunny brought him a wooden train set and a few chocolate treats! And, the Easter Bunny hid all those eggs we dyed the night before. Coop thought that was pretty "neat" and was excited to hunt around the house for them.

Then we headed to Gammi and Poppi's house for a yummy, yummy, yummy brunch. Gammi outdid herself with ham, cheesy grits, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, little biscuits with honey pecan or blackberry butter, egg breakfast casserole and a salad...YUM-O.
And, of course, the Easter Bunny hid some eggs at Gammi and Poppi's house. Some of the eggs had little cars in them and some had candy. I'm pretty sure that Cooper ate more candy in that half hour than he's had in his entire two and a half years.
Uncle Ed pulled a "Papa" move and hid some cash in one of the eggs.
Coop loved playing with the new train set that the Easter Bunny brought him. The day wouldn't be complete without a Cooper Concert! He kept saying "bravo!" and "Thank you, everybody!"

Love my family!
And, love my growing belly!
Happy Easter!
