Solids and Weekends

Six months? Really? It has gone by so fast! I have so much to share about Cooper--I feel like we have a new trick and milestone every week these days. We recently went for our six month check up, and my little man weighs 17.4 pounds and is 27.5 inches tall. The doctor described him as "tall and skinny." Hmm...not sure where he got those genes, not from me at least. Cooper is so amazing and I just love, love being his mommy!

In honor of my baby being six months old, here are six recent Cooper Milestones:

1) Cooper is starting to eat solids! So far, we've tried sweet potatoes, peas, squash (yellow and zucchini), which is his fav, and pears! I've decided to make his food, so on the weekends I make big batches of everything. Then, I freeze the veggies in cubes, so when it's time to eat, I just pull out a cube of veggies, thaw it, and we are good to go! In addition to the solids, he is still completly on breastmilk--no formula...so far...for this kiddo, which I'm so proud of. Hopefully I can keep that up, but I just take it week-by-week. Right now he is getting lunch and dinner, and next week I plan to incorporate breakfast. Yummy!

2) I can officially say that Cooper is mobile. He is scooting like crazy. You put him down in one place and he is half way across the room in the blink of an eye. And, last weekend he started getting up on all fours and kind of rocking back and forth. It's only a matter of time before I do a "Crawling" post!

3) Cooper loves to babble, and I LOVE to hear him talking to me. Recently he has started saying "da da da da da da" and "day day day day day." It's kind of like once he starts, he just gets on a roll and becomes a little chatter box. It melts my heart to hear his sweet voice.

4) Cooper is starting to take an interest in other kiddos. He is starting to really stare and gravitate toward some of the more mobile kids in his class at school. Cooper tries to play with the same toys and just watches what they do and how they move around; he even tries to follow them. In fact, his teachers told me that he always moves over closer to a little girl named Madison. He he! They even told me that Cooper gives Madison forehead kisses!

5) Guess who cut his first tooth?! Yep, this week, a little white speck of a tooth popped out. It's his bottom left tooth, and he has been handling it pretty well. Lots of drool, chewing on everything, and some tenderness, but he is hanging in there.

6) He is a really happy, happy boy! We are showered with smiles, kisses, babbling, squealing, and big, excited movements every day. I am so blessed and so in love with my Cooper.

Just playing on Mommy and Daddy's bed...with my tractor book!
We've had such fun mornings the last couple of weekends--planting flowers, breakfast on the front porch, swinging, playing with Drake, and just enjoying family time in the beautiful weather. Here is Cooper, thinking about giving Drake a kiss.
Happy boy!

I wish I knew what he was thinking in this picture...
Helping Mommy plant flowers.

The next picture in this series shows Cooper grabbing the flowers and trying to eat them! Luckily my cat-like reflexes stopped him just in time.
Sweet potatoes!!

OMG!!! Where have I been?! How could my little one get to be so big?! Will I even recognize him this weekend? Does he still remember me? It's been two weeks!

The Lambs are always having so much fun! Noah and I would like to sign up for gardening and scooting lessons, please. :)
