When Three Became Four

Welcome to the world my sweet son.
Austin Buddy Lamb
Austin joined our team at 3:34 p.m. on October 18, weighing 6 lb 9 oz, and 19 1/2 inches long. He is totally perfect and I am totally in love. Austin is after our favorite city and Buddy is after Philip's grandfather, Odell B Lamb, and my mom's late brother, George Ferris Clements Jr. However, both men were known to all as "Buddy."

I was scheduled for an induction for Tuesday, October 18 and we were to check in at the hospital at 6:00 a.m. to begin the induction process. I didn't want to be induced, but because of the umbilical cord situation I couldn't go any longer. The day before the induction I was having a lot of strong contractions, but nothing regular. They did, however, pick up in the evening, but I still didn't time anything because they just weren't feeling regular to me. Then around 2:00 a.m. I woke up to lot of stronger and more frequent contractions. I thought maybe something was happening, but still didn't time it because, heck, we were supposed to be at the hospital in four hours anyway! By the time we checked in at the hospital and they had me hooked up to the monitor, my contractions were about 2-3 minutes apart! My doctor came down to check my progress, told me I was looking good and that I "got my wish" and started labor on my own! Yea!!

This was the night before heading to the hospital. My last pregnant belly picture with Austin (39 weeks, 5 days).
We are now home and trying to get settled. Cooper is doing great so far and loves, loves, loves his Baby Brother Austin! Lots of pictures and stories to come (hopefully soon!).
