At one point, Austin
handed me a big leaf, which I tucked behind my ear. Apparently, that's
pretty funny to an almost-one-year old, and he handed me another leaf
and then tapped his head, like he was telling me to put it behind my ear
with the other one. I did, and he smiled and clapped.
I found a really long, bendy stick, which I shaped into the letter "C" and then made a "4" with some smaller sticks. Coop instantly saw what I was doing and said, "Mom! That's a GREAT idea! Let's make our letters with the camping sticks!" After several letters, however, I think they were maybe getting to be too abstract, because he moved on to making our stick letters into a big bonfire pile. And then, it started to rain and we just sat there, singing away, and it was fabulous.
