For the longest time, we've been working with Cooper on saying "love" and explaining what love is, I mean, as much as you can to a 1.5 year old. We try to make sure Coop hears Philip and I talk about different things or people we love, and we ask Coop who or what he loves. Most times he points to Drake or the kitties! Or he will answer with a very soft and sweet "yes" when we ask if he loves Drake or if he loves Jackson or if he loves his blankie.
But, last night, we had a turning point. While we were sitting at dinner, Philip asked Cooper if he could say "love Mommy." Cooper smiled and looked at me, and Philip asked him again if he could say "love Mommy." And then in the sweetest little voice, Cooper looked at me and said "love mama." Ahh.... My heart was in a puddle on the ground. I think he could tell that was a special thing for Mommy to hear because he said it several times throughout the night. Sometimes prompted, sometimes on his own. But either way, he said it. And I'd like to think he knows a little about what it means, right?
Just before bedtime, when Philip was kissing him goodnight, I asked Cooper if he could say "love Daddy." And sure enough, he smiled at Philip and said "love dada." If that's not the best way to end your day, I don't know what is.

Bird? Plane? No, Super Cooper!
Camping in the Backyard
One weekend recently, Philip decided to entertain Coop by pulling out our camping tent and building it in the backyard. I wasn't sure how Cooper would react because he's never been a huge fan of the tents for kids. He likes them, but after a minute or so, he's ready to move on to something else.
However, when Philip spread out all the pieces to the big tent, Cooper got so excited! He started picking up different pieces to the tent, trying to help Philip, and over and over again, he ran through the tent material, squealing at the tops of his lungs!

Cake Mystery
A couple of weeks ago, I hosted a baby shower with some of my best SWA friends. I was in charge of the cake, so I decided to test my baking and decorating skills and create something from scratch. After picking out the recipe and flavorings, I got to baking! I had my two round (cinnamon chocolate rum) cakes cooling on racks, and after turning my back for a mere second, I turned back around to see this--a big hole in the side. A bite hole? Perhaps... But who?
Clue #1...The tiny hand resting in front of the cake.
Clue #2...My little "helper" gulping down some cold milk.

Clue #3...The crumbs that my little helper so calmly wiped off his mouth after drinking the cold milk. Hmmm....I think the mystery is solved. (PS: I made the little camo apron Coop is wearing. It's his tool/kitchen apron!)

This was the finished cake and cupcakes. I filled the hole with extra icing, and I don't think anyone at the party noticed the bite...I mean"mystery"...hole.
