Cowboy Grayson

Grayson loves his big brothers.  L-O-V-E-S them.  Any attention he gets from them, he'll take.  It's getting to the stage where Coop and Austin are "playing" more with Grayson as opposed to just tickling, talking, or shaking a toy in front of him.  They are all interacting together and really engaging Grayson these days, and he is soaking it up.  Plus, between Grayson crawling and Coop carrying Grayson around the house, I never know where I'll find anyone!  On this particular day, I found these two..

Grayson, Playing in Drake's Water Bowl

Why is it that a dog's water bowl is a complete magnet for babies?  Grayson is at the point where he will quietly crawl into the playroom, when he thinks no one is watching him, and race over to Drake's water bowl.  If I try to stop him mid-crawl, he turns around, gives me a huge smile, and tries to crawl faster to the bowl before I reach either him or the bowl first!  Turkey.

Kinda reminds me of this kid...

Boys Will Be Boys

I'm sure this won't be the first blog post about my boys tackling each other...  I walked into Grayson's room to this.  The pictures aren't good and they are blurry, but that's because there was so much energy and movement in the room, I couldn't even keep up.  It's amazing to me that at only eight months old, Grayson had zero fear and jumped right into the dog pile with his brothers.  Because, well, that's what boys do.  And I have three of them.

I love these below.  Grayson doesn't hesitate to crawl on over and jump in on the action.

This is What Happens When ... You Take Three Kids Shoe Shopping

The scene ... We had gone to the mall for a fun library kids yoga event, then to check out books at the children's library.  Cooper was desperate for new shoes, and we happened to walk right by Nordstroms, so I decided it would be fine to quickly walk through the kid shoe department just to see what they had.  I didn't intend to stay and shop and purchase...but I did.  With all three kids.  During nap time.  And Grayson's feeding time.  Oh boy.

To be honest, everyone did great.  For awhile it was actually very easy and calm...but all good things must come to end.  This kids got stir crazy.  Grayson was tired of sitting in the stroller.  Austin didn't want to color any more, instead, he wanted to try on shoes, too.  From the display, from the boxes Cooper was trying on, from the shelves on the wall.  It didn't matter where they came from or what size they were.  He tried them on.  (It actually reminded me of myself when I was little.  I used to love trying on anything!)  And eventually, I decided Grayson needed to get out of the stroller.  Oh, but he didn't want to be held.  He wanted to crawl all over the store.  On the floor.  Eating the boxes and the paper.  I had to keep figuring out who to help first -- the two-year-old removing shoes from all over the department or the eight-month-old exploring all of Nordstorms.  And yes, I did have to ask myself a few times, "Oh gosh, where did Grayson crawl off to now?"
Cooper got into our new library books and happily read while I chased his two wild monkey brothers.
In the end, we survived AND went home with a pair of awesome new shoes for Cooperman.  It was crazy.  It was chaotic.  It was our typical, normal daily life.  And it IS great!
