Oh Blog...

Oh blog... How I miss you. I update this blog for me, really. To help me remember my time at home with the boys. The fun we have. The crazy day-to-day happenings. The cute moments and sweet moments. And the sometimes not so cute or sweet moments. But oh my goodness, I am busy these days and long for my time to sit and document more and capture more. But I do all I can, everything I can. I have so many pictures and stories I need to go back and post from the last six months, since Little One joined our family, and I'll get them posted here eventually.

There are a couple of things I read recently that have stuck in my mind that I'm really trying to live by these days:

Be present, not perfect

and

Linger a little bit longer

I love those words. I realize I've been given a gift to be able to stay at home with my three boys. They will not be little forever. They will not all be home with me forever. In fact, next year will be a big change for us with Cooper starting kindergarten... But for now, I might not update the blog as frequently as I'd like. Or do a lot of things as frequently as I'd like. But, I'm trying my best to be present with my children and lingering a little bit longer with them. (FYI, Grayson is in the snow picture, I'm wearing him, and he's completely bundled up!)

What a Three-Year-Old Says

Yahoo! Trashman wweeenntt potty!!
Hey Mom, it's a gully washer out there!!! (Referring to how hard it was raining outside.)
C: How your flowers, Mama? Me: Well, they all died because of the cold weather. C: Awww. That so sad. Don't worry, Mama, I buy you new flowers! It be ok!
Baby Austin, I love you so much. You so cute! (I hear this almost on a daily basis from Cooper.)
Mommy (while squeezing my cheeks), you adorable.
Mommy, I teach you how to catch pompeno. Daddy, can you teach Mommy how throw the line?
Me: Coop, can you take this to your room? Coop: I can't do that right now; I have go work on my tractor. Just call me if you need anything. Oh wait. My tractor broken. I go work on my harvester.
Getting ready to decorate the Christmas tree... "Ok, what we need first? How bout presents?!"
Look! I made bubbles with my tushi! (After tooting in the bath.)
While swinging outside... "Drake just pooped. Mommy, when we get bigger, we pick up his poop. Only Daddy big enough right now. Ok? Ok, Mom? When we get bigger, we help Dad. Ok?"
Whoa! Look at that! (While pointing to downtown as we drive by.) That BIG city!! What city that, mom?!
Let's play cowboy! Daddy, you be the cowboy. I be the partner.
Me: Brrr...it's cold out here. Cooper: Don't worry, Mommy. Daddy keep us warm.
While throwing the football with Philip, Cooper caught the football and said, "I have go run bases! And run back to my tractor!"
As he climbs on our bed, "Sometimes cowboys need to sit and rest."
Walks up to me wearing his cowboy jeans and boots, puts his hand in his pocket and says, "I'm Cowboy Cooper. What's your name?"
Calls "She's Every Woman" by Garth Brooks the 'Mama Song." I think his Daddy has something to do with that; it melts my heart.
I want to kiss Baby Brother. Mwah! Mama, you getting big!
Cooper and I were napping and we both wake up for a split second...Cooper: What we do now? Me: Sleep. C: Ok. (And we went back to sleep for another hour.)
I share my trash truck with Baby Brother. That good idea. --36 months
Wanna see my rocket ship? It's on my farm. I have tractor, too. And chickens. I cut your grass! --36 months

What a Two-Year-Old Says

When I grow up, I be doctor; you be cowboy; Daddy be horse. --35 months
Mommy, you thinkin bout what I'm thinkin bout? I thinkin bout horses. You thinkin bout bananas? --35 months
I want my Daddy lay down with me. I love him. --35 months
While playing catch with Mommy, "Keep eye on ball. That what Daddy and Poppi tell me." --35 months
Whoa. It's a hot summer day. --35 months
Mommy, you want decaf rapchino? (Asking if I wanted a Decaf Frappachino...busted.) --35 months
They call, ‘Catherine Lamb…Pizzaman!’ (While waiting at doctor office.)--35 months
One time when I was little boy, I climb in tree get stuck. Monkeys climb up help me. I fall down hit head on sign and go BBOOIINNGGG!!! --34 months
While making cookies with Gammi: Coop: Ok, what we need? Gammi: we need a stick of butter. Coop: And eggs and oil. --34 months
Mommy, I happy! I give you kiss. (mwah!) You happy? --34 months
You don't do things like Mommy (to Philip while he was making Cooper's bed). --34 months
Poppi, you have sweet dreams? --33 months
Who's Catherine? --33 months
Cooper to me: What do dinos eat? Me: Well, some dinos eat meat and some eat plants. Cooper: Maybe some eat tomatoes, too? --33 months
Mommy, l need to make cookie dough. --33 months
While sitting in bubble bath: "I need to go back up Daddy's car. Oh wait! I naked jaybird! Hmm...guess I have to back up car as naked jaybird." --33 months
Cooper to me, while reading a book: What's in that train? Me: What do you think is in it? Cooper: Maybe apples? Maybe food? Or kids and rabbits eating leaves? I smell apples! *sniff, sniff* Maybe apples and racoons in the train? --31 months
Cooper: Look, Mama, I draw my name. Me: Did you draw a "C" for Cooper? C: I draw C-O-O. Cooper! --31 months
While rocking Cooper before bedtime, in the sweetest little voice, "Mama, hold my hands. (I do.) Aww....Mama, I love you. So much." (Bring on the tears!) And a few seconds later, "I love Daddy, too. And my treat." --31 months
I teach baby how to use leaf blower. --31 months
Where Ferris? I need to kiss nose! --31 months
Me: Are you a space ranger like Buzz Lightyear? Cooper: I not space ranger. I Cooperman Pizza Man!! --31 months
I have ghost friend. We laugh, play games together. He goes potty on big potty. --31 months
Wanna read about leaf blowers? It's fun! (Handing me a leaf blower pamphlet) --31 months
Come on, Captain Daddy! (to Philip, appropriately) --30 months
While rocking Cooper before bedtime, it was quiet for a few minutes when he suddenly said, "Mama, I need to hammer something." --30 months
Cooper to Gammi: Be careful, Gammi (while holding out his hand to help her get around a stone wall). --30 months
Me: Ouch! Cooper: What happened? Me: I hit my elbow. Cooper: Aww...I kiss it. *kiss* All better? --30 months
Me: What did you like most about the park today? Cooper: I like Mommy! --29 months
Mama sing Lady Gaga? --29 months
I want Cowboy come over. Cowboy that drive tractor. --29 months
What's kitty doing? Maybe cat waving to cowboy? --29 months (referring to a picture of a cat with a raised paw)
No biting finger, Dinosaur. You go timeout. --28 months
