What's that I See?

Well, it's a tiny little tooth, of course!  At six months and two weeks, my little Austin cut his first tooth.  The week prior he had been super snotty, and I was just thinking it was allergies.  While I do think it was some allergies, now I also think it was due to teething.  He was also a little fussier than normal two days prior to this little tooth poking through, but at the time I thought it was because he was worn out from all the wedding festivities.  I'm sure it was some of that, but mostly because a tooth was about to make an appearance.
AND, if one tooth wasn't enough excitement...he's cutting a second tooth!  A few days ago, Philip and I started wondering if another tooth was coming in because Austin's gum was a little swollen and he was congested again.  Sure enough, this afternoon, I could see a little sliver of white under the gum.  So, now, at six months and almost three weeks, tooth number two is almost in!
My sweet little Austin Boo at 6.5 months.

Fire Everything

This is Fireman Cooper. He lives in a fire station. His dad drives a pumper truck (but sometimes it's a police car) and his mom drive a hook and ladder truck (but sometimes it's an ambulance).  And, he has a firedog named Drake.
This is the baby fireman who stays back in the firetruck or at the fire station when Fireman Cooper has to "get to work on an emergency!" because the work is too dangerous for babies.
Fireman Cooper is busy everyday rescuing a cat stuck in a tree; saving people from burning buildings; helping people find their way out of a forest; or helping a little girl out of the window. Several times a week, we'll go in the front yard and I'll hide Cooper's dinosaurs in the trees or bushes. Then, I call Fireman Cooper with an emergency, "All the dinos are stuck! They need your help! Hurry, Fireman Cooper!! Hurry!" Luckily Fireman Cooper is always quick to reply, in his worker man voice, nonetheless, "Don't worry, Mama. I'll be right there!" He brings his ropes, ladders, hammers and an axe and gets to work rescuing the dinos.

We are all consumed with fire everything these days. Cooper dresses in his full fireman uniform everywhere we go--the park, the grocery store, running errands, to a friend's house. Everywhere. Fireman coat, fireman hat (sometimes with the siren turned on), and fireman boots (now held together with red duct tape). He gets lots of attention and compliments, which makes him beam and, actually, quite proud of himself.

If you had asked me several months ago about age three, I would have told you I was ready for four to be here! But, for the last couple of months, I feel like we've turned a corner with the hardest challenges of three (well, for the most part) and I'm totally loving this age. And I totally adore my Fireman Cooper.

Fixing Traffic Lights

I came around the corner in the playroom to find Cooper like this.
He told me his was up in his cherry picker "fixing the traffic lights around the town."  He was very busy and very focused on his work.  He even drew up "plans and 'structions" for how to fix the traffic light.

Handsome Boys

Enough said.

Fun in the Front Yard

These days, this is how you'll find Team Lamb.  Outside, enjoying the beautiful weather.  Oh, and dressed like a construction worker or wrestling with a blanket.

Sleeping in the Swing

Austin loves to swing, just like his brother always has.  We usually swing in the front yard twice a day and on this particular day, Austin decided the swing was the perfect place for an afternoon nap.

And then...he woke up a little confused and grumpy.  We were quickly off to his bed for a real nap!

Cooper and Poppi

If I had a camera rolling at all times, it would have caught the most precious moment between Cooper and Poppi tonight...

Cooper was playing with all of his cars in the living room, when Poppi walked in the front door and said something like, "First there was Superman! Then, there was Batman! And now, there is Cooperman!" (Something totally silly and totally Poppi, right?) And when my dad came around the corner, into Cooper's view, Coop dropped those cars so fast and ran with open arms to my dad, with the sweetest, "Poppppiiiii!!!!!" I've ever heard.
Cooper totally and completely adores his Poppi.
