All By Myself

I hear this a lot these days..."I do it all by myself." I hear it when a certain three-year-old wants to pick out his own clothes or get his own drink or wash his own hands or brush his own teeth. But the other day, I heard it in regards to something I hadn't imagined--cleaning up the playroom...all by himself. With absolutely no prompting from me, either. I was getting lunch ready and I could hear him in the playroom, but I just thought he was playing. He came into the kitchen, grabbed my hand, and said he wanted to show me something. He led me into the playroom and exclaimed, "I cleaned the playroom all by myself!!" And, boy did he!!

He was so proud of himself, too!

Wiping his hands clean, "All finished!"

For the record, this is normally what our playroom looks like...on a good day.
