Cooper Goes to Work

One day last week, after a big storm overnight in our area, Cooper's school lost electricity. Well, I didn't find this out until I was on my way to drop him off the next morning and my sweet friend, Erin, called to let me know she tried to drop Caden off and the whole school was dark! But, the school director said it should only be off for a few hours, so I decided I would just bring a little visitor with me to work for a few hours!

Well, a few hours ended up turning into the entire day! The school didn't get electricity until close to 4:00, and at that point, I was just going to keep him at work...it was best...for him. ;) Anyway, Cooper did so great! He babbled all day long and people kept coming by my desk saying, "I thought I heard a sweet little voice over here" or "I just had to walk over here and find out who was doing all that talking." I loved it, of course, and I really am just so proud of him for being so sweet and actually letting me get some work done.

Here are some pics from our day.
I set up a little barrier so he couldn't escape! It worked...for the most part.
He loved playing with this pickle bucket. It's what I put my feet on under my desk, but he discovered how to turn it over and wiggle himself inside!
He even took a good hour-long nap under my desk.
"Hi, Mommy!"

He even showed me how he could pull up! What?!

"Look, no hands!"
We had such a fun day! I love you, Mr. Happy!

First Haircut

Yep, that's right, seven months old, and we had our first haircut this weekend! It was time. My little man had hair hanging down in his eyes and an impressive length in the back, so, yes, it was time. We decided to take Cooper to the same barber shop where Philip gets his haircut, and I have to say that right before Susie started cutting, I almost yelled, "STOP!". But, I didn't, and she cut. Luckily, she only cut a little bit (just enough to get it out of his eyes), and I became that mom and saved some of the hair. What am I really going to do with that? I have no idea, but I just found myself wanting to keep it. So, now it's in one of those little keepsake boxes in Cooper's closet. I'm sure I'll be glad I kept some...I think.

Anyway, my baby did great! He sat in Philip's lap and didn't jump or get scared at all. He was so patient and, I might add, is quite handsome with his new do!

Getting ready for the first cut.

A little off the back and sides.

Splish Splash

Now that my little man can sit solidly on his own, he loves to sit up in his bathtub! Last night, he was having so much fun with all of his toys and banging his hands on the water, making it splash up. I called Philip in, and we took tons of cute pictures!

"How many toys can I hold at once, and how in the world can I get this hippo in my mouth?!"
Big smiles!
All clean and ready for bed.

Crawling...Almost

Yep, that's right...almost crawling.  My little man took a few crawling movements forward!  I'm a proud mommy!  Enjoy the video (don't mind the excited voice in the background--he he!).

Solids and Weekends

Six months? Really? It has gone by so fast! I have so much to share about Cooper--I feel like we have a new trick and milestone every week these days. We recently went for our six month check up, and my little man weighs 17.4 pounds and is 27.5 inches tall. The doctor described him as "tall and skinny." Hmm...not sure where he got those genes, not from me at least. Cooper is so amazing and I just love, love being his mommy!

In honor of my baby being six months old, here are six recent Cooper Milestones:

1) Cooper is starting to eat solids! So far, we've tried sweet potatoes, peas, squash (yellow and zucchini), which is his fav, and pears! I've decided to make his food, so on the weekends I make big batches of everything. Then, I freeze the veggies in cubes, so when it's time to eat, I just pull out a cube of veggies, thaw it, and we are good to go! In addition to the solids, he is still completly on breastmilk--no formula...so far...for this kiddo, which I'm so proud of. Hopefully I can keep that up, but I just take it week-by-week. Right now he is getting lunch and dinner, and next week I plan to incorporate breakfast. Yummy!

2) I can officially say that Cooper is mobile. He is scooting like crazy. You put him down in one place and he is half way across the room in the blink of an eye. And, last weekend he started getting up on all fours and kind of rocking back and forth. It's only a matter of time before I do a "Crawling" post!

3) Cooper loves to babble, and I LOVE to hear him talking to me. Recently he has started saying "da da da da da da" and "day day day day day." It's kind of like once he starts, he just gets on a roll and becomes a little chatter box. It melts my heart to hear his sweet voice.

4) Cooper is starting to take an interest in other kiddos. He is starting to really stare and gravitate toward some of the more mobile kids in his class at school. Cooper tries to play with the same toys and just watches what they do and how they move around; he even tries to follow them. In fact, his teachers told me that he always moves over closer to a little girl named Madison. He he! They even told me that Cooper gives Madison forehead kisses!

5) Guess who cut his first tooth?! Yep, this week, a little white speck of a tooth popped out. It's his bottom left tooth, and he has been handling it pretty well. Lots of drool, chewing on everything, and some tenderness, but he is hanging in there.

6) He is a really happy, happy boy! We are showered with smiles, kisses, babbling, squealing, and big, excited movements every day. I am so blessed and so in love with my Cooper.

Just playing on Mommy and Daddy's bed...with my tractor book!
We've had such fun mornings the last couple of weekends--planting flowers, breakfast on the front porch, swinging, playing with Drake, and just enjoying family time in the beautiful weather. Here is Cooper, thinking about giving Drake a kiss.
Happy boy!

I wish I knew what he was thinking in this picture...
Helping Mommy plant flowers.

The next picture in this series shows Cooper grabbing the flowers and trying to eat them! Luckily my cat-like reflexes stopped him just in time.
Sweet potatoes!!

Six Months

I can't believe my baby is six months old!!! He is growing and changing so much and showing so much personality! He is the complete light of my life and I am crazy about him. You only turn six months once, so I decided to take the day off and play with my little boy. Auntie Ann came over and played, too, and luckily it was a gorgeous day outside. Day off of work, perfect weather, time with my baby...I couldn't have asked for more!

Ann took so many great pics, but I chose just a few of my favorites to post. We played for quite awhile outside...
Discovering the leaves and the grass. (We are working on crawling, but we are a pro scooter!)
Getting kisses from Mommy.
Laughing at Auntie Ann!
Getting leaves stuck in our hair.
Being cute.
It was bright, so we had to wear our shades.

Group pic!
Using our new swing!

Happy six months, my angel!
