Weekend Getaway

Last weekend, Philip surprised me with the idea of going out to the Four Seasons for a night! As one of my "happy places," this girl wasn't going to turn down that offer! So, we packed up and headed out there Saturday afternoon for rest, relaxation, fun, and uninterupted family time. And, needless to say, we had a great time--lounging by the pool, splashing in the water, and just hanging out and playing with Cooper. No worrying about laundry or errands or working around the house. Just time together.

Time to head to the pool. We found a great little area in the shade, so we were able to stay outside for awhile. And, Coop did great! He ate outside, played, took a nap. Now, that's not to say that it wasn't difficult juggling him and all the gear and trying to sit and read a magazine for five mintues. It was hard, and it really made me realize...not that I didn't know before...that our lives have changed! Every aspect. But, you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way!!
Cooper loves the water and his little turtle floatie!

My boys.

Time to check out the waterfall. Cooper kept putting his hand through the water and was drenched by the time they got back to me!

My little angel.

Yep, he likes to read while lounging, too.

I love you, Cooper and Philip! Thanks for a fun, fun weekend!

Weekend Outing

We had such a fun weekend, but of course it went by way too quickly. Seriously?! Why can't the weeks go by that quickly? Anyway...Saturday, I had an appointment to get Cooper's hand impression made at this studio in the historic area of Grapevine. I've had this appointment for over a month and was so looking forward to it! My little man did a great job. So patient and cooperative when the studio owner put his hand in the clay. He was a little unsure, but overall he did great! Of course, once we were at the studio, I saw how many cute options there were that we could have made, so it was hard making the final decision. But, we ended up getting a magnet of his hand, a plate with his hand and foot, and a Longhorn-themed "football" ceramic of his hand and foot for Philip's office. The finished product should be in in four to six weeks--stay tuned for pictures!

I love the look on his face in this one!

Also this weekend, Coop helped me put the kitchen towels away...over and over again...and he helped me pack...and unpack...his newborn-six months clothes. Is it weird that I was a little sad packing away some of his clothes? I can't believe how big my little angel is getting!

Come play with me, Drake!!

Discovery

Someone discovered the "kitty door" the other night.

"What's through here?"
"This is how Mocha and Teva get in to eat. Maybe I can fit in , too?"
"Ah oh. I've been caught!"

"Time to get away..."
"...but I can't forget my spoon!"

Mother's Day

I had the best first Mother's Day! It was so fun and special to join the shoes of all the moms that have touched and inspired my life. I had no idea being a mom would be so amazing, wonderful, fulfilling, emotional, and inspiring all at the same time. And, I couldn't ask for a better little miracle to be a mom to! I love you, my little Monkey! Thank you for a wonderful celebration day!

We took on our first art project and made Mother's Day cards for Gammi (my mom) and Nana (Philip's mom). I would like to say that things went great and it was so easy, but that would be a little bit of a lie. While it was fun and we laughed a lot, it was messy and impossible to keep an active seven-month old still! I don't have a picture of the finished product, but I added a picture of Cooper to each card, under the footprints. They turned out pretty cute and the grandmothers loved them!

I even got a homemade Mother's Day card, too! Cooper did the footprints and the crayon marks, he had a little help with the rest. I love it and think it is just beautiful!

Picnic time at the Arboretum!! Luckily the rain cleared and we were able to enjoy our day!
BaBob and Poppi!
Auntie Ann brought bubbles and one of those big bubble wands. I think Coop had a hard time seeing the bubbles, but he will have a lot of fun with it this summer!

Cooper had califlower for lunch--yum!
And, he's off! (Notice the wooden spoon in his hand? It's his new favorite toy!)

My sister took these fun pictures of us. Look at these from November and see how much Cooper has changed!
